The Aldabra Foundation was established in 2005 to ensure the preservation of Aldabra in perpetuity through providing support to the Seychelles Islands Foundation and the creation of an important research institute on the atoll. The Aldabra Foundation helps to promote scientific research into Aldabra’s pristine marine and terrestrial environments and in so doing hopes the lessons learned can be applied elsewhere on the planet; for the ecosystems of Aldabra constitute a world in miniature.
